PBM didn’t start in a co-working space with a mood board and a dream. It started in the motor industry, one of the most ruthlessly accountable environments in Australian business.

That’s where our founder, Matthew Taylor-Farrington, spent over 16 years. Every dollar tracked. Every campaign measured against results. Every excuse met with “so what are you going to do about it?”

That culture isn’t something we talk about at team meetings and forget by Tuesday. It’s baked into how we operate. Every strategy we build, every ad we run, every report we send comes back to one question: is this actually making you money?

Matt is a co-founder of Purple Bunny Marketing, built alongside Regan and born from 16 years surviving the motor industry, where excuses don't exist, every lead counts, and the marketing either works or it doesn't. After working with some of Australia's leading car brands, Matt had seen enough "we'll circle back on results" agencies to know exactly what he didn't want to build. So he built the opposite. PBM's no-fluff approach has since been recognised with the 2024 GSCC Marquee Business Awards for Media and IT, which the team are pretty stoked about. Outside the agency, Matt is proud to serve his community as a member and board member of the Rotary Club of Ipswich City, and as Vice President of the Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce, where he's committed to championing the businesses and people of Greater Springfield.

Regan co-founded PBM alongside Matt after years of working together in the car industry, where she earned a reputation as the person you wanted in your corner when a deal needed closing. She now splits her time between running Ace Driving School and keeping PBM's admin running like clockwork. If Matt's the engine, Regan's the one who built the chassis.

Sam's been with PBM since the dining room table days, literally. He was there when PBM was two blokes and a laptop in a house before it was a real agency. After a stint in car sales that confirmed he was built for creative work, not cold calls, he found his groove running operations and designing the ad creatives that stop people mid-scroll.

How is PBM different from every other marketing agency?

Honestly? Most agencies will tell you they’re “different.” Then they’ll lock you into a 12-month contract, send you a report full of numbers that don’t mean anything, and go quiet until invoice day. We’ve heard the stories because our clients tell us every single one of them.

Here’s what actually makes us different: we don’t do lock-in contracts. If we’re not delivering, you leave. That means we have to actually be good at our jobs every single month. Funny how that works.

We also know where we’re strongest. The bulk of our experience and results come from working with trades and service businesses. That’s where our strategies are sharpest and our playbook is proven. Does that mean we’ll turn you away if you’re outside that box? Of course not. Good marketing is good marketing. Here’s the honest answer. If we’re running Google Ads or Meta Ads, most clients start seeing leads within 7 to 14 days. Sometimes sooner, depending on how competitive your area is and whether your website is ready to convert.
 
SEO is the slower burn. It compounds over 3 to 6 months, but once it kicks in, you’re getting leads without paying per click. Think of ads as turning on the tap. SEO is digging the well.
